7 Goals for 2019

Yesterday I sat down and thought about what I wanted to accomplish in this upcoming year. I thought I would publish it publicly, mostly so you guys could hold me to it and to maybe inspire others!

My boyfriend and I celebrating New Years in a New Orleans hotel!

1. Wake up early (7am) at least three times a week to meditate/do yoga/drink tea and just mentally prepare myself for the day ahead. I've always been a fan of the the early morning despite always being too tired to witness it. There really is something about 'the calm before the storm' that is equal parts inviting as it is exciting. I also can have terribly insomnia if I do not get up early, so hopefully getting up early will straighten out my sometimes terrible sleeping habits.

2. Attend a group fitness class three times a week - I really want to focus on being more physically fit this semester and what better way to do it? This would allow me to meet new people and try new fitness routines like cycling and salsa!

3. Create weekly events with friends - Whether it be Friday night movies or Tuesday morning brunch and study, I want to create weekly rituals to keep in touch with the people important in my life and so I always have something to look forward to.

4. Be in bed by 10 and unwinding by 9 - This goal is probably going to be my most challenging! As a college student, there are always events happening starting at 9 or 10 pm. I'd like to really strike that balance of attending those events but also taking the time I need to get enough sleep so I can accomplish all that I need to!

5. Attend weekly meetings for clubs - I am a member of several clubs on campus and participate in their events, but am so bad at attending their meetings because they fall on days dubbed my 'stay lazy in bed day'. By attending, I am hoping to make stronger friendships and feel accomplished at the end of the day.

6. Have at least one new blog post posted every Sunday - I have really enjoyed writing these posts. It is so therapeutic and my new happy place. I am hoping that my class and activity schedule will allow for this creative outlet more than once a week, but I am setting the bar low as to not put too much pressure.

7. Make Wednesday (no classes) a study day - I'm hoping to find a cozy corner or study room with friends and make it a weekly 'thing' to hang out in the library. It'll be a social event and productive!

Thanks for reading! What are your goals for 2019? Post in the comments! I look forward to reading.
